EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY – FLORIDA REGIONAL DIRECTOR
Sharsheret is the only national organization dedicated to addressing the unique needs of Jewish women
and families, of all backgrounds, facing breast cancer and ovarian cancer. Sharsheret’s national office is
located in New Jersey and our psychosocial support and education programs serve women and families
across North America. We seek a dynamic, forward thinking, seasoned professional to join our 4-person
Florida team and serve as Regional Director for our office in Florida, open since June 2013.
TITLE: Sharsheret Florida Regional Director
REPORTS TO: Chief Operating Officer
FULL TIME POSITION FOR A FLORIDA RESIDENT
POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Florida Regional Director will be responsible for managing Sharsheret’s
vibrant Florida office, growing our program and donor base, increasing awareness, fundraising within the
region and maximizing impact throughout the state of Florida and in the Southeast.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conduct community outreach and education focused on breast cancer, ovarian cancer, cancer
genetics, and the unique issues of Jewish women, men and families who are at increased risk for
hereditary cancer
Introduce Sharsheret to health care professionals, major medical centers, and Jewish, cancer,
and women’s organizations
Cultivate potential and existing stakeholders and partners and facilitate fundraising opportunities
through one-on-one interactions and larger group events, in-person and virtual
Deepen and nurture partnerships with existing organizations and programs
Recruit new Sharsheret program participants
Liaise with campus groups, synagogues, and community centers
Represent Sharsheret at local conferences, parlor meetings, and campus events
Manage daily operations and budget
Strengthen Sharsheret’s local volunteer Community Advisory Committee
Travel throughout the state to key communities beyond South Florida (i.e. Orlando, Tampa,
Jacksonville, Gainesville, Atlanta, etc.)
QUALIFICATIONS:
8-10 years’ experience in networking, fundraising, and community organizing
Passion for issues related to breast cancer, ovarian cancer, and women’s health
Ability to manage multiple tasks in fast-paced environment
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Understanding of the Florida Jewish and healthcare communities
Must be available to travel regionally
Master’s degree a plus
